Lead (Pb) Based Paint (LBP) Inspection & Risk Assessment

SQS provides residential, commercial, and industrial lead inspections along with risk assessments. Our services include XRF screening, dust sampling, soil sampling, analysis, evaluation, and reporting.

Lead Inspection 40 CFR 745.227(b); 24 CFR 35.1320(a);
& MI R325.9914

A lead inspection determines the presence of lead based paint. An inspection does not evaluate the hazards or risks associated with lead based paint detected in the inspection.

Lead Hazard Screen 40 CFR 745.227(c); 24 CFR 35.1320(b)(3);
& MI R325.9915

A lead hazard screen is a limited risk assessment used to detect whether lead based paint presents a health risk or hazard. If a lead hazard screen reveals lead dust hazards, a complete risk assessment should be considered.

Risk Assessment 40 CFR 745.227(d); 24 CFR 35.1320(b)(1);
& MI R325.9916

A lead risk assessment determines the risk associated with lead based paint. It evaluates lead dust, which may be inhaled or ingested by people living or working in a building that contains lead-based paint.

Clearance Sampling 40 CFR 745.227(e)(8);
24 CFR 35.1340 & MI R325.9917(8)

Following a lead abatement and post-abatement cleanup, a visual inspection and clearance sampling for lead-contaminated dust is conducted.
